Spicy Sticker Revenge!

This Month’s Obsessions

Watching: Solo Leveling the anime. It really makes the manwha come alive, but the voice acting can be a little over the top LOL.

Listening: I can’t find any new music on Spotify that gives me enough dopamine, and I feel like I’m going crazy. Any recommendations?

Reading: I shamefully admit I haven’t read anything in June. You know that saying about how mechanics have the worst cars? Yeah…

Playing: Cyberpunk 2077. My husband bought it when it first came out, but between all the bugs and a truck-tonne of updates since then, we restarted it as our summer game.

News / Writing Updates

After over a month of struggling with how to fix parts of Basebuilding Plot that just weren’t working, I had a random dream that sparked some creativity, and wrote 28k words in a week. Why can’t this happen more often on ‘official’ projects!? The good news, is that this creative burst gave me an epiphany about Basebuilding, and I’ve been moving steadily forward daily. I had to scrap some scenes and rewrite them, but we are now officially at the end of Act I, with 30k words. The manuscript will be cut down during editing, but I’m past this hump and excited about Basebuilding again.

Revenge of the spicy stickers. Have you guys ever used those Salonpas pain patches? I get severe muscle cramping and spasms, so once I discovered those bad boys, it was awesome! I named them ‘the spicy stickers’, and they were a life-saver for writing. Until I woke up one morning to bright red, inflamed rashes all over in the shape of perfect rectangles. Turns out, I’m allergic. Or maybe I just OD’d on the spicy stickers, LOL. I’m waiting for everything to heal completely, and then I’ll try just one sticker to see what happens. Wish me luck!

Finally, I’m doing a week-long juice fast. It’s one of those things that is really good for you, but mid-week you start questioning your life choices LOL. Whatever. I’m a big advocate for self-care and health, so this is a much needed body reset. And trust me, it’s much better than a water fast (those suck in ways I can’t describe).
