Writing Updates

I’ve set an August 1st deadline with my editor! There’s always a chance I’ll need to ask for an extension, but we have a date to aim for!

I even have a cover for the book, which I’ll reveal in a couple of months. So exciting!!

Also, do you like my website’s glow-up?

I coded this bad girl a lot myself (that computer programming education coming in handy), and am beyond thrilled with how it turned out.

Personal Projects

I built an island for my kitchen.

It’s the most complex and detailed woodworking project I’ve ever done, and I’m so proud – and pleased – with how it’s turning out.

The island isn’t done yet, but it’s getting close! I’ll include more pictures next month as it gets the fancy drawer fronts and doors.

I’m just delighted with all the extra storage space, with soft-close drawers.

Music

“party 4 u” by charli xcx

A pop/hyperpop song that has lived rent-free in my head for 2 weeks straight. You can’t go wrong with charlie xcx.

“check” bbno$

Heavily samples from “Low Rider”, this song doubles-down on the beat and pairs with skippy rap. Add to your high-energy playlist.

“sucking diesel” by reysha rami

Finally, this is the song to play in the background as you’re walking away from blowing up the lair of your arch-nemisis. Those synths tho’!

Books, Shows, Games

I read “The Bee-ginning: A Dungeon-Core LitRPG (The Bee Dungeon Book 1)” by Icalos, and enjoyed it. It was cozy/crafty with a splash of danger, and I loved that each of the queen bees had their own personality.

The husbando and I just watched “The Accountant 2” for date night, and it was great! I’ve been burned by movies turning out to be terrible recently, so I’m glad this movie came through. Great writing and directing, and interesting story, and the acting was excellent.

I’m watching hubby play Dead Island 2. It hasn’t grabbed me as much as the first game, but it’s pretty fun and the graphics are phenomenal. The story and voice acting feel a little… overpolished, if that’s a thing. Professionally produced to the point of being generic. It’s still fun though, and we’ll work through it over the next few months.
