Writing Updates

“Shift” being re-written one scene at a time. Most days I can only handle 1 scene, and there’s like 60 of them so…. Ya. It takes time.

Sometimes I’m thrilled by my own genius, because things are really coming together, full of mystery, intrigue, and twists! I’ve already booked my editor for July, so I have until then to finish re-writes, give the manuscript a quick rest, and then go back with a fine-tooth comb to smooth everything out.

It’s gardening season, and this year I planted seeds for an herb and vegetable garden.

Last month, you saw my cool Ikea cabinet transformed into a mini indoor greenhouse. I was inspired by a Korean show called “Home Alone”, where they show a day in the life of celebrities. An episode in  March showed a woman who grew greens in this exact Ikea cabinet, and  since I’ve always dreamed of having a greenhouse, this sparked me to  finally take action.

Before and After:

We usually grow at least something in the outdoor garden every year, but now want to grow herbs and leafy greens indoors year-round.

I love having fresh veggies, as well as saving some grocery money. The more plants I have growing indoors, the happier I feel. I am a house-goblin, after all. Plus, growing your own food is rebellious as fuck.

Do you grow a garden? Have you ever tried growing herbs or veggies indoors? I’d love to hear your stories/adventures!

I Recommend…

“BITE BACK” by Vana
A mix of cutesie and metal. I love genre mashups!

“You Get What You Give” by New Radicals
A classic from my high school days. So upbeat and nostalgic.

“Mothman” by Sickick
Sickick always brings the late-night drive mood.

BOOKS

I struggle to read and do edits at the same time (editing brain won’t let me just enjoy the novel, it has to freakin’ ANALYZE everything LOL) so no books in progress this month. I did try to read “The Inheritance Games” by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, but I made it about halfway before giving up. It didn’t feel very mysterious or puzzle-ey to me, and focused more on teenage romance between the main character and two hot rich boys. It just wasn’t for me.

SHOWS

“Family Matters”, a Korean tv series. From Wiki: The series depicts about a woman who received harsh training in an unknown facility as a child, escapes the facility, and lives as an ordinary family member, but encounters cruel villains and punishes them with even more cruel and strange abilities.

GAMES

Oxygen Not Included fulfills all my micromanaging dreams! It’s a 2d map where you have to build a colony inside an astroid, dig through rock, gather water, manage air and different gases, food, and refinement processes. I’ve literally spent an entire weekend playing it recently, it’s just that addicting.
